Raising the Standard: Inside IdealTECH 2026
Top Technicians. Real Skill.
Meet the Finalists of Idealease’s IdealTECH Competition
At Idealease, expertise isn’t a claim—it’s a standard. It’s what keeps our customers moving every single day.
And nowhere is that more visible than in our 2nd Annual IdealTECH Technician Skills Competition, where technicians from across the network step up and prove it.
This year, 165 technicians from Idealease locations across the U.S. and Canada took on the written challenge—three times the participation from last year. That kind of growth doesn’t happen by accident. It reflects a clear, network-wide commitment to raising the bar on technical excellence.
From that group, eight technicians rose to the top, earning their place in the next phase: a live, hands-on competition at the 2026 Idealease Best Practices Meeting in Indianapolis.

More Than a Competition
As David Bement, Vice President of Maintenance, shared:
“This competition is not only a way to measure expertise, but a tool for Service Managers to evaluate technician knowledge and identify training opportunities—helping each technician continue to grow and advance their career as an Idealease Technician.”
The IdealTECH competition goes beyond recognition. It gives leaders visibility into technician capabilities while creating real opportunities for growth, development, and long-term career progression across the network.
What’s Next
The competition continues with the hands-on finals, taking place Monday, June 1 at 8:00 AM EST in Indianapolis.
