Today we shine the spotlight on a 2023 President’s Club Elite winner who is a Rental Manager with Rush Idealease in Mississauga, Ontario—Idealease is proud to introduce you to Michelle Sedlezky!

Michelle was born and raised right next door to Toronto, Ontario, in Mississauga and currently lives in a small town north of the city. She moved out to be in the middle of nature with her best friend, Karma (aka The Sweetest Dog in the World), where she loves to chill in her kayak and tend to her vegetable garden. And when she’s not sipping cold beers by the campfire, she’s out traveling the world.

In her career, Michelle followed in the footsteps of her parents—her mom was a Driver Trainer, and her dad was a Diesel Mechanic—and began to work in the commercial transportation industry 20 years ago. Beginning as a coordinator at another leasing company, she fell in love with the leasing and rental business and never looked back.

Michelle, welcome to The Elite Spotlight!

What success helped you Own Your Market in the past year?

Building strong relationships with vendors and customers over the years has been a significant contributor to my success.

The friendly meetings and get-togethers have helped me strengthen business relationships, stay on top of developing trends within the transportation network, and better understand our customer’s challenges.

Developing creative solutions to keep our customers satisfied has led to more equipment commitments, and customers returning their Penskes and Ryders to take Idealease units and—most importantly—referrals!

What challenge gave you the biggest hurdle to overcome and how’d you do it?

I’ve worked hard to make sure the needs of my leasing and rental customers are heard as loud and clear as those of our retail customers.

Recently, I’ve been working closely with our senior management to best overcome obstacles and deliver first-class service, but I’ve also built a reliable network of outside suppliers and vendors who’ve been happy to work with me and are instrumental in making sure we are living up to the Idealease value proposition.

What’s the best advice you’ve been given, or you’ve given someone else?

Take care of your customer or someone else will!

Amazon approached me when they were in search of a supplier that could support their equipment needs on a national level—of course, I wanted Rush Idealease to be that supplier! They provided a wish list for equipment they needed, and I hustled to make it happen in a very short time.

By tapping into existing relationships and building new ones with suppliers outside of my AOR, Amazon was provided with everything they needed to enable their rapid expansion plans across the country. Since then, I continue to be their go-to gal, making them a priority whenever they call and helping them navigate through our complicated industry challenges every step of the way.

I don’t believe that taking care of a customer is about a one-time big win or an obstacle to overcome. It’s about being attentive, considerate, and helpful always. It’s about understanding, caring, and working together towards solutions. It’s a commitment to aways do the best you can because there’s always someone else who’d love to take that relationship.

Looking ahead, what will be the most important key to Owning Your Market?

Continuing to stay in front of my customers, provide the best service possible and make sure they know—and experience—that there is no better supplier partner than Idealease!
