Idealease CARES Spotlight: Donahue Idealease Gives Back Along California’s Central Coast

A Mission With Meaning

About two weeks ago, Donahue Idealease put one of its box trucks to work in a different way—supporting children in the community along California’s Central Coast. What began as a simple idea turned into a meaningful effort focused on delivering brand-new bikes and creating moments of joy, hope, and freedom for kids who deserve it most.

Supporting CASA of Santa Barbara County

The journey began in Santa Barbara with CASA of Santa Barbara County. CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, trains and supports volunteers who serve as consistent, caring adult advocates for children in the foster care system. These advocates provide stability, guidance, and a voice in court to help ensure each child’s needs and well-being remain the priority.

Supporting CASA is especially meaningful to the Donahue Idealease team. Their ongoing partnership reflects a shared belief that strong communities are built by supporting children and investing in organizations that make a lasting difference.

Community Partners Making It Possible

With bikes loaded and ready, the Donahue Idealease truck continued north, making stops along the way to recognize the partners who helped make this effort possible. Support from the Local Plumbers and Pipefitters Union 114 and The Chumash Foundation played an important role in bringing this initiative to life and expanding its impact.

A Moment That Made It All Worth It

The final stop was Toyota of Santa Maria, which served as the bike pickup location. There, CASA children arrived with their advocates to select their bikes. The excitement, smiles, and energy in that moment captured exactly what this effort was all about—creating positive experiences and memories that will last well beyond the day itself.
